Nikolay Elasticized Ribbon

This elasticized pointe shoe ribbon from Nikolay measures 0.98 inches wide and comes in a 2.4 yard length, enough to ribbon a pair of shoes. Unlike rigid satin, it stretches with the ankle as the foot articulates, easing pressure across the front of the joint. The surface is soft and matte, so it sits almost invisibly against tights or bare skin.

Dancers who find traditional ribbon binding or digging in through releves and full pointe often switch to an elasticized version for class and rehearsal wear.
